Rimmel The Only 1 Lipstick - Review and Swatches

'The Only 1 lipstick' is Rimmel's new lipstick launch in Australia. I haven't tried much from the brand's lip department except the Kate Moss Nude Collection but knowing they are so popular in the beauty community, I was super excited to try this range.

The Only 1 lipsticks are very highly pigmented. I love that these lipsticks feel very nice and comfortable on the lips. They are neither matte nor glossy. There's a lot to offer in the shade department with 12 shades to choose from.

These lipsticks last fairly okay on me. I have had coffee and a full meal wearing these and they don't totally disappear like some lipsticks do. They wear off around the mouth, which is okay as I don't mind reapplying.

I have been getting a lot of wear of the red shade 'Best of the Best'. I love that its such a bold color, yet comfortable unlike bold matte formulas. 

Rimmel Kate Moss Nude Collection !

I am a huge fan of a lot of Rimmel eye products but strangely haven't tried any of their lipsticks so when I was sent the Rimmel Kate Moss Nude Collection I was super excited to try them since I have heard so much about their lipsticks.

Rimmel Kate Moss Nude Collection* offers five nude shades in the lasting finish formula designed to suit each and every skin tone. The range also comes with a Moisture Renew Universal lip liner that goes with any shade of lipstick.

The range is available in the following shades : 

40 - Described as a Pale Nude, is a pale, concealer like nude shade probably best suited to very very fair skinned in my opinion. 
42 - Described as an apricot Nude, is a peachy, pinky nude, which should suit a lot of skin tones. Its a good start for a nude shade in my opinion as 40 seems a bit too light. 
43 - Described as a Tan Nude, is a nude with orange undertones which should look good on most warm skin tones. 
45 - Described as a Rose Nude, is a mauvey nude, it is the kind of shade I like and should look good on cool undertones. 
48 - Described as a Coffee Nude, is not a nude in my opinion but almost a very dark coffee brown shade best suited for dark autumn lip.

Nars Limited Edition True Nars Lip Pencil Set Swatches & Photos

If you follow me on Instagram, you may know I recently did a mini Mecca Maxima haul and treated myself to this beautiful limited edition NARS True Nars Lip Pencil Set. In today's post I am sharing pictures and swatches of these beauties.

True Nars Lip Pencil Set is a limited edition set from NARS and is available at Mecca Cosmetica and Mecca Maxima or from their website. This set consists of two satin lip pencils and a velvet matte lip pencil. The colors included are Luxembourg (Satin), Yu (Satin) and Provocative Red (Velvet Matte). Luxembourg and Yu are a part of the permanent range while Provocative Red is a a limited edition shade. The pencils have 2.2 gms of product each.

The set comes in this beautiful compact (pictured above) with a large mirror and a jumbo sized sharpener which is good as these pencils are not twist ups.

The Good

• Beautiful wearable bright shade
• Affordable and easily available
• Variety of shades available in this range to suit all needs
• Creamy texture, not drying like some pigmented lipsticks     

The Bad

I don't see any cons in the product, but this is the only color I have tried in this range.

I find sporting a bright pink lip (as compared to other colors) difficult and sometimes its hard to find a bright pink shade to suit my complexion. Over all, to me this is a wearable bright pink shade which IMO should suit olive skin tones. This shade packs a punch without looking OTT.

Rave Review - Revlon Lip Butters

I have just discovered Revlon Lip butters.. I know, I know, I am super late in trying these.. I bought these along with Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains on my recent USA trip ..I have 'Candy Apple', which is a gorgeous shade of red, bold but yet easily wearable & 'Tutti Frutti', which is a beautiful orange shade (a good color if you want to explore orange colors). I would definitely want to try more shades of these.

The Good 

• Creamy in texture 
• Super moisturizing
• Gorgeous packaging 
• Variety of shades to suit all needs 
• Super glossy
•  Glides on the lips 
• Perfect blend of a lipstick n a gloss

The Bad 

• The staying power is not as great as many other lipsticks (but I am fine with it, as technically they are lip butters)
• Not all the shades are as pigmented
• The actual product is very soft, and the product can sometimes get caught on the sides of the tube and get messy

Review - MAC Cosmo

I got MAC Cosmo on my recent USA trip. If you missed my US haul, check the MAC one HERE.  

Cosmo is a pink brown shade which should work across a lot of skin tones. It's an Amplified finish. IMO, MAC Cosmo, is one of those no fuss, everyday colors, which could go with anything and everything .. perfect for everyday, perfect for work and perfect when you cannot make up your mind ;)

Below is a comparison with the lipsticks that I love to wear on a daily basis and that I find really easy to wear .. from L to R, Loreal Afterglow, MAC Cosmo, MAC See Sheer & Chanel Silhouette. You can see how pigmented MAC Cosmo is over Loreal Afterglow and MAC See Sheer. 

The Good 

• Creamy in texture
• Opaque, gets good coverage 
• Great pigmentation 
• Easy to wear, no lip liner required, wear straight from the tube
• Practically goes with everything

The Bad

• Does not last as long as matte lipsticks  
• Very expensive in  Australia :(

Over all I am really liking the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. They are fun n easy to apply. They have a peppermint flavour. They are long lasting and stain like crazy :).

Review - MaxFactor Lipfinity Color & Gloss in 'Illuminating Fuchsia'

I was always into lipglosses but since this blog I have totally changed my preferences to lipstick. Amongst the lipglosses I have tried I really like the Revlon Colorburst range and Max factor Lipfinity Color & Gloss. This was gifted to me and it sure was a great discovery ..Over all I love the lasting power, texture and feel of the gloss..

Likes

1. Not sticky like a lot of other glosses which attract hair all over your face.
2. The most long lasting lip gloss I have used till now. The lip color stays on for long but the gloss disappears in a while. Stays on after food and drink as well.
3. Has a lovely creamy texture and finish.
4. Two in one product contains both lip color and gloss. You can wear it three ways, individually or together. 
5. Affordable. Drug Store Product. 

Dislikes

1. Has  a funny smell but does not linger.

Random - Ways I wear Red Lipstick

• Full Blown  Red - Rock the full on red lips in all its glory. We all know red lips or bold lips in general are the best way to go if you want your make up to stand out and do not want to put in a lot of effort ..
• Muted with a Pink Color - If you don't want to wear red you can mute it with a pink lipstick or a nude lipstick. I usually mute my red lip with the Revlon ColorBurst Soft Rose.
• Pretty Stain on the lips - Wipe the first version with tissue and you get yourself a pretty red stain ..

• Mac Lustre See Sheer : This is the simple, sweet and subtle shade of the lot . See Sheer is a lustre finish by MAC and hence sheer and glossy. This a peachy coral shade, perfect for everyday. A very easy shade to wear. 
  
• Mac Creemsheen Crosswires : This I like to call as a colorful, cheerful n confident shade. To me, this is a perfect coral for spring n summer. I have really enjoyed wearing this all summer. The best is that this can be worn for both daytime and nightime looks. Check out the detailed review here
  
• Estee Lauder Copper Coral - This is definitely, the big, bad and the bold shade  of the lot. This is without a doubt a perfect bold lipstick for a night out. This is the Estee Lauder Signature lipstick and is so moisturizing and long lasting. The formula is smooth and creamy and super shiny :) . Total love :)

MAC Crosswires Review

As compared to pinks and nudes, peaches/corals are new to my liking, but I am enjoying them esp with the summer here in Australia. I am reviewing MAC Crosswires on the request of my dear friend Samyukta from http://isimplylovemakeup.blogspot.com/

MAC Crosswires is a pretty coral shade from the MAC creamsheen line.

I love the color and feel that when applied lightly it instantly brightens up my face. I feel this color can be used both for summers and winters. It works best for me when I apply it with a light hand (one coat) since it becomes a 'look at me lip' when I apply it heavily.

The Good

• Nicely pigmented : Crosswires is a pretty nicely pigmeneted color, even with a just a dab on the lips it brightens up the face and gives good color to your lips. It gives nice opaque coverage to lips
• The color works well both for day and night. You can wear this with a smokey eye for the night and and lightly with neutral eyes during the day. It works both as a pretty pop of color or as a bold lip
• It has a nice creamy texture to it
• Reasonable staying power

The Bad

• setlles into lines - yes it does settle into fine lines :(
• a bit drying
