This is just a quick post for my Australian readers, the June/July edition of Harper's Bazaar comes with an awesome GWP. You get a beautiful scarf for yourself, the scarves are available to collect in two colors, turquoise and black. As you can see, I got the turquoise one ..

Do you judge a book by it's cover (literally ! )

Do you judge a book by it's cover ? Well in this case, I kind of did. This book called out my name, when I lay my eyes on it for the first time and then I reached for it ..

The beautiful ruffled orange dress, the cinched waist, the gorgeous royal blue heels, the lights and the palm tree in the background.. I so wanted to read it ..

When I took this in my hand and started reading the last page, I wanted it all the more, as it is centered around two of my favorite cities, Sydney (I now call Sydney home) and LA (grown up watching soap operas (read 'The Bold and the Beautiful'), don't judge me, I have always been smitten by LA)..

Anyways, I am currently reading the book "Red Carpet Burns" and really enjoying it ..

I also recently read "Wedding Night" by Sophie Kinsella, enjoyed it, was a good, fun and light read ..go for it if you like Kinsella books ..

What have you been reading ? On another note, I wanted to ask you guys if you want me to do more Styling posts. I had done one before for Styling Necklaces as it was requested. Let me know.

Random Haul (Books, Jewelry, Cosmetics) !!

Last time I had lots of haul posts on my blog when I was back from my US Vacation. Now I am in a hauling mode again as my birthday is coming and I am treating myself and also forcing the husband to treat me .. Anyways, moving on with the post, hope you enjoy the haul..

I have read all Sophie Kinsella books and when I saw this book 'Wedding Night', I just had to buy it ..  This book 'Red Carpet Burns' also caught my fancy and I can't wait to read both the books ..

I bought this adorable Chi Chi Macaroons Bath Bomb set, well who doesn't love a hot bath in cold wintery days ?

The other random things that I bought are, Vanilla Addict Natural Lip Balm, Sportsgirl Nail It in 'Bossy Boots', Rimmel Scandaleyes liner in 'Bright Blue', super cute rose gold owl studs and the foam Makeup remover from Dove, have heard lots of good things about this, so real excited to try this ..

Have you read/tried any of this ? What have you been hauling lately ?

How to wash your hair brushes

Just as we emphasize the importance of cleaning our makeup brushes, the same goes for our hair brushes too. It is very important to keep our hair brushes clean and clear..So today's post is 'How to wash your hair brushes'.

What you need to clean
  1. Dirty Hair brushes ;)
  2. Bowl to soak the hair brushes
  3. A big brush, tooth brush, antiseptic (Dettol/Savlon), shampoo and detergent/washing powder

How to
  1. Fill luke warm water in the bowl. Add half a cap antiseptic solution and some shampoo in water and lather up.
  2. Soak your brushes for 20-30 minutes.

How to

  1. Take some washing powder on a plate.
  2. Add some drops of water on to the washing powder.
  3. Coat the big brush with the washing powder.
  4. Move the brush to and fro over the comb to clean away all the dirt gathered up.
  5. Keep running the brush the same way till all the combs are clean of the dirt.
  6. Coat a tooth brush with the washing powder.
  7. Move the brush to and fro over the hair brush to clean away all the dirt gathered up.
  8. Keep cleaning till you have covered all the brushes.

I like to use a tooth brush for hair brushes and a big brush for combs. A tooth brush can do for both. Use whatever you like.

Wash all the brushes and comb thoroughly in running water and keep them for drying over a towel. And there you have it, all washed up, good as brand new hair brushes/combs.

How do you wash yours ? How often do you wash them ?

Random - Ways I wear Red Lipstick

  • Full Blown  Red - Rock the full on red lips in all its glory. We all know red lips or bold lips in general are the best way to go if you want your make up to stand out and do not want to put in a lot of effort ..
  • Muted with a Pink Color - If you don't want to wear red you can mute it with a pink lipstick or a nude lipstick. I usually mute my red lip with the Revlon ColorBurst Soft Rose.
  • Pretty Stain on the lips - Wipe the first version with tissue and you get yourself a pretty red stain ..

Do you like to rock red lips ? Or you go for other options ?
