Manicure Monday - Revlon Color Stay Gel Envy Wild Card (440)

This Manicure Monday features Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy in 'Wild  Card'. Its a beautiful bright blue color. I have been wanting to try a gel nail polish from the drugstore and I bought this one from Revlon in the Priceline 40% off sale.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how absolutely stunning this color is. Apart from the pinks and the reds, I am really drawn towards blues and purples and well thats how I landed with this color.

This goes on opaque in two coats. I am wearing a normal top coat with this. Just a background story - I asked the Priceline SA if I could use a normal top coat and if the Revlon gel top coat was anything special in terms of longevity and she suggested a normal top coat would work just as fine. So, I decided no to spend my money on the top coat.

This polish lasted on me chip free for 4 days. I had to change my nail polish after that so I don't know the exact longevity of these.

Overall I was really happy with the formula and would suggest trying these. But pick this up in sale as polishes are so incredibly expensive in Australia.

Which is your favorite blue nail polish ?

Review - Revlon Super Lustrous Matte Paradise Pink 016

A while back there was 40% off at Revlon in Priceline and I took it as an opportunity to try out the Super Lustrous lipsticks. I have heard so much about these lipsticks. I picked up the sahde 'Paradise Pink 016', it is a matte formula.

Revlon Paradise Pink is no where close to being pink, but is a reddish orange color. Its a perfect bright color for summers.

Paradise Pink is the only lipstick I have tried in this range. The color shows opaque in one swipe. The lipstick feels nice and creamy when first applied and gradually turns to a matte finish. It is a matte finish but does not feel painfully drying on the lips. The packaging is fairly okay. The lipstick stays for 4-5 hours. This range is affordable and easily available and has lots of shades on offer.

I love this shade, it is good to add a pop of color. It would suit most olive skin tones in my opinion. Overall, its a great lipstick, I will try some other shades (will wait for the sale, though !)

If you are in the market for a bright lipstick, swatch this next time you are at Priceline.

Price
AUD 21.95

Have you tried this shade ? Do you like it ?

Near to Nude Lipstick Choices !

Today's post features some of my favorite nude/neutral lipsticks.

There was a time when I only used to wear nude shades and could not imagine myself sporting a bright lip, but things have changed and I love my bright lipsticks. But having said that, I still like to rock nude/neutral shades.

I am featuring three lipsticks from my collection that are my top picks for an everyday nude lip.

Australis Color Lip Inject Mineral Lip Gloss in Burlesque

I have previously raved about this HERE. I love everything about this lip gloss, the texture, the fragrance, the color. Ahhh, its so good ! Its a beautiful mauvy brown color and is a perfect MLBB (my lips but better) color for me. I love that these lip glosses are not sticky at all and smell heavenly.

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick Soft Rose
I believe this was the first Revlon lipstick that I tried. I love this lipstick. Great formula and awesome, chic packaging. I think this range is discontinued now. I have reviewed this before and it was my second post on the blog, you can check it out HERE

Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in Silhouette

I cannot even explain how beautiful and special this lipstick is to me. This was my first ever high end lipstick. I just love the packaging of Chanel Rouge Allure lipsticks, totally to die for. Chanel Rouge Allure Silhouette is a beautiful mauvy brown color (you can see a pattern here). The texture of the lipstick is nice and creamy.

Which is your favorite near to nude shade ?

Priceline 40% off Haul

A while back Priceline did a 40% off all cosmetics over two days and no surprises here, that I definitely wanted to dig in.

I tried to be a good girl and only bought stuff that I knew I will get good use of.

I am lazy with my daily makeup as I don't have enough time in the mornings, my everyday makeup mainly comprises of kajal, some colored or black eyeliner, mascara and lipstick or lip balm and my haul is mostly on the same lines.

I bought two mascaras, the newly launched "Loreal False Lash Butterfly and an oldie "Covergirl Lash Blast".

I also bought the "Loreal Lumi Magique primer" as I have heard good things about it and who doesn't love a glowy and dewy finish.

I bought four eyeliners, two Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Kajal in Black, I absolutely love this eyeliner, its a beautiful deep black eyeliner, so I bought backups. I love wearing colored eyeliners, so I bought a Savvy by DB eyeliner in Jade and Revlon Colorstay in Grey

Finally also bought a Models Prefer dome smudge brush. So that was my haul :)

Did you haul at Priceline ? What did you pickup ?

My Work Makeup Lately !

Long time back, Vita from 'Making up 4 my Age' did 'A typical week's worth of makeup?' post and I have been wanting to a similar post since then and finally I have come around to it.. Hope you enjoy it.

I have been mostly grabbing for the following eye shadows lately:
  • Wet n Wild trio in 'Silent Treatment' - Love the taupe shade in this trio, perfect for everyday. Review n EOTD HERE.
  • Rimmel Mono eyeshadow in 'Daisy Chain' - This was a GWP, its a gorgeous eye shadow, a pinkish lilac shade, lovely texture. Looks good on its own or with a brown or berry shade on the crease. Will do an EOTD soon.
  • Maybelline quad in 'Chai Latte' - Love all the shades in this quad, perfect neutral eyeshadow. Click HERE to check a EOTD using this.
  • MAC Paintpot in 'Indianwood' - I love wearing cream shadows as they are so quick n easy to apply. Click HERE to check EOTD using this paintpot.

When I don't want to fuss over eye shadows, I try to quickly don a put together look by applying eye liners. For a pop of color, I like to apply 'Flirty turquoise' from Colorbar, 'Ransom' from Urban Decay or 'Blue Spark' from Revlon. Have used these colored liners HERE before to create the Rainbow liner look. For a subtle definition, I love wearing this grey shade 'Slate' from Lakme and 'Brown Perfection' from NYX. I always apply liner on my lower lash line n waterline, n my recent love is this Maybelline Master Drama Eye Studio in 'Midnight Master'. Review coming soon.

I have been enjoying wearing these neutral shades, 'MAC Blushbaby & Tarte Exposed', since I got them.
Loving wearing Milani 'Luminoso' for a corally glow.

Though summer has long gone and we are having rainy and gloomy days in Sydney, but I have still been enjoying wearing Orange lipsticks. I have enjoyed wearing Revlon lip butter 'Tutti Fruti', Revlon lip balm stains in 'Rendezvous' &  MAC 'See Sheer'

For brushes, I have been enjoying Sigma F84 for applying blush and Real Techniques Multi task brush for buffing in the blush. For eye makeup I have been using, MAC 217 and Real Techniques eye brushes.

What have you been wearing to work lately ?

Rave Review - Revlon Lip Butters

I have just discovered Revlon Lip butters.. I know, I know, I am super late in trying these.. I bought these along with Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains on my recent USA trip ..I have 'Candy Apple', which is a gorgeous shade of red, bold but yet easily wearable & 'Tutti Frutti', which is a beautiful orange shade (a good color if you want to explore orange colors). I would definitely want to try more shades of these.

Revlon Candy Apple & Revlon Tutti Frutti

The Good
  • Creamy in texture
  • Super moisturizing
  • Gorgeous packaging
  • Variety of shades to suit all needs
  • Super glossy
  •  Glides on the lips
  • Perfect blend of a lipstick n a gloss

The Bad
  • The staying power is not as great as many other lipsticks (but I am fine with it, as technically they are lip butters)
  • Not all the shades are as pigmented
  • The actual product is very soft, and the product can sometimes get caught on the sides of the tube and get messy

The Price

21.95 AUD

Where to buy
Target, Kmart, Priceline, selected pharmacies

EOTD - Fun & pink liner !

Today's post is a simple EOTD featuring an easy way to sport pink on your eyes ..As much as we love the color pink it can get tricky to play with.. Here is an easy way out (or a lazy way out he he ;)), just with an eye pencil. I featured Urban Decay 'WoodStock' previously in my Top 5 pink products for October and my friend and fashion/beauty blogger Kannu, requested a swatch/LOTD with Urban Decay 'Woodstock'.

So this quick EOTD post is for you Kannu. I will probably look at incorporating WoodStock in a proper EOTD post later. I am wearing Urban Decay 'WoodStock' on my upper lash line and Revlon Color Stay Sparkling eyeliner in 'Blue Spark' on my lower lash line n black liner on my waterline. Hope you liked the look ..

Do you wear pink on your eyes ?

EOTD - Winged Liner - My first attempt !

I absolutely love winged liner, the more looks I see sporting winged liner, the more I am in love with it. So today I thought, let's wing it baby !!

And here I am with an attempt to the Winged Liner. So what do you think ?

I wanted to be safe and just started by creating a small flick, I am hoping to get better with practice :) But am happy with it .. I am wearing Revlon black liquid liner on the upper line and Colorbar plum eyeliner on the lower line.

Do you wing it ?

EOTD - Rainbow Liner

Today's EOTD is called Rainbow liner. This is inspired from a tutorial I saw on YouTube by Macbarbie07. I loved the look and wanted to recreate it, the only difference is that she used liquid eyeliners for the look. I created the look with the stuff I already had, I do not have colorful liquid eyeliners. Personally I think this look can be more neat and well defined with liquid liners.. Hope u like the look ..

I used the eye pencils in the sequence from left to right as displayed in the pic ..Lastly I also defined my upper line with a thin coat of black liquid liner and also lined my top and bottom waterline.

Did you like the look ? Would you wear this look out ?

Random - Ways I wear Red Lipstick

  • Full Blown  Red - Rock the full on red lips in all its glory. We all know red lips or bold lips in general are the best way to go if you want your make up to stand out and do not want to put in a lot of effort ..
  • Muted with a Pink Color - If you don't want to wear red you can mute it with a pink lipstick or a nude lipstick. I usually mute my red lip with the Revlon ColorBurst Soft Rose.
  • Pretty Stain on the lips - Wipe the first version with tissue and you get yourself a pretty red stain ..

Do you like to rock red lips ? Or you go for other options ?

Swatches from the previous HAUL post and a quick EOTD

Hi guys

I have swatches from my haul in the previous post.

I got the L'oreal lipsticks for a total bargain and I love both the shades. L'oreal Colour Riche in Pink Lady is a muted pink shade, perfect for day wear and I like to top this up with the L'oreal Lip Gloss in Always Pink. L'oreal Color Riche in After Glow, to me is a perfect MLBB shade. This is a very pretty peachy brown shade and I see myself getting good use of it. I am not sure if these shades are now sold or not in the regular Colour Riche range, as I got these from DFO (as mentioned in my previous post). I got Revlon Color Burst in Peony and Orchid.

I was always a pink girl and was never into peaches, but now I have this sudden fancy over everything peach and hence the need to buy Revlon Peony (gloss) and BYS Coral (blush) is totally justified. Both of them are pretty peachy, while Revlon Peony is a sheer peach with subtle golden shimmer, BYS Coral is a super pigmented peach blush though I dislike the sweet smell it has. Revlon Orchid is a pinky lilac shade. So now the swatches, enjoy !!

L'oreal Colour Riche Pink Lady & After Glow, Revlon Color Burst Peony & Orchid (L to R)

L'oreal Infallible Forever Pink, Flashback Silver & Hourglass Beige (L to R)

BYS Coral Blush swipe & blended in (L to R)

Quick EOTD using Flashback Silver on my lids and Hourgalss Beige as a highlight

The EOTD was actually a very quick one, without primer, mascara and concealer or you can say I just slathered the color on to my lids ha ha :) I was rushing for a dinner date .. and these pics are around 3 hours after applying the makeup. This was applied with fingers. The Lovely Lilit from Makeup and Macroons had done a detailed post on these along with a fab EOTD have a look here .

Have you guys tried L'oreal Colour Riche or Revlon Corlor Burst ? What do you think of them ? Have you bought any of the L'oreal Infallible eyeshadows ? Which are your favorite colors ?
