Products that did not work for me #2

Hi guys, today I am sharing some products that did not work for me. Also referred to as disappointing products or products not worth the money/hype. Check out the previous version HERE

MAC Sheertone Dollymix and Peachykeen (41 AUD each)
I bought these two blushes from MAC when my love for makeup started. Peachykeen was my first purchase and when I bought it I did get some good use out of it. However, I gradually realized shimmer blushes were not for me. Both these blushes though beautiful in color have good amount of shimmer in them which is visible on the cheeks and not in a flattering way, at least IMO. This is not a bad product but just not my preferred one.

Sigma E40 (23 AUD)
E40 is a good brush in terms of the shape and usage, but not sure if I got a bad one or if its the case with all of them. Mine sheds like crazy, to the extent that when I am using it, it sometimes leaves hair on my face and its not fun.

REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask (59 AUD)
I have already spoken about this in my high end skincare collective review, so my rant here is pretty much the same. When you give in to the hype and buy things and the product doesn't work for you, you can't help but be disappointed. That's exactly how I feel about this mask. This mask absolutely does nothing for my face. I don't see any difference to how my skin feels nor does it look any brighter. It just feels like I have applied some fancy expensive orange jelly to my face. If you really want to try this mask, I would highly recommend getting yourself a sample first to try.

Benefit Benetint (55 AUD)
This is not a bad product as such but in my opinion its not worth the hype and the money. I also feel that I have to really pack it for it to show up on my face or cheeks.

Have you tried these products ? What do you think of them ? Which products did not work for you ?

  1. If you haven't thrown it out already, try Benetint on your lips. I found this was the only place it stuck for me and it looks amazing. Give it a try anyway :-) x

    1. I tried it on my lips and it doesn't work for me unless I pile it on. Its really expensive and overhyped imo.

  3. I had similar feelings about Benetint - not terrible, just really 'meh' for the price.
Interesting to hear your thoughts on the REN though, that was actually one of the next products I planned to buy so I'll definitely see if I can get my hands on a sample before I fork out for it!

    1. Yeah definitely overhyped and overpriced. I learnt my lesson, always helps to try a sample when possible for expensive products.

  4. Oh I quite like a bit of Dollymix - but definitely agree with you on Benetint, it does nothing for me but remove the foundation underneath and disappear ><

  5. I don't use my Benetint either, a total waste of money for me. I hate brushes that shed, they're such a pain!
