December Empties #3 !!

Today I am doing my list of December Empties .. I love empties post .. just looking at all the empty jars, the satisfaction of using all the products n throwing them away, makes me real happy :)...I don't do my empties every month just whenever I have enough products to bin away ..

SKINCARE

Starting with skincare (from L to R), I had heaps of skincare stuff this time

  • Nivea 2 in 1 Wash & Scrub - Well I don't know how, but I bought this by mistake. This is for combination skin and I have normal to dry skin. So I used this as a foot scrub, just to finish this. Will not repurchase this.
  • Loreal Youth Code Luminosity Serum - Review coming soon. I have used the serum as well as cream of the same type. Its just an okay product for me. Will not be repurchasing this.
  • Olay Complete Defence SPF 30+ - This is my go to daily facial lotion with SPF. I have gone through a loads of these, a definite repurchase. Reviewed HERE.
  • Nivea Soft - This is a cream which can be used for the face and the body. Come in a tub and this tube. Perfect for carrying in the bag, or keeping one in the car or your office desk. Will continue to repurchase.
  • Loreal Youth Code Luminosity Cream - Review coming soon. I have used the serum as well as cream of the same type. Its just an okay product for me. Will not be repurchasing this.
  • Nair Precision Facial Hair Removal Cream - This is the facial cream that I use for my upper lip. This one is a definite repurchase as well. Reviewed HERE

HAIRCARE

So proceeding with the hair stuff
  • Pantene Classic Clean - Just a regular shampoo, work well, cleans well. Might repurchase.
  • Neutrogena T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo - I like this shampoo works well for dandruff. I am suffering from scalp acne since a while and it does seem to help with that.I already have another bottle of this.
  • Loreal Excellence Creme Conditioner - This is the conditioner that comes in the Loreal color kit. I quite like it. Not sure if they are sold separately, but I love these conditioners, they make your hair super soft.

FRAGRANCES

So last but not the least
  •  NEXT Just Pink - Mentioned HERE before. I used to really like this fragrance, but don't like this a lot anymore. Wish this would have been a bit more softer. Will not repurchase this.
  • Bath & Body Works Body Splash in Enchanted Orchid - This was gifted to me. This is a nice fragrance, but again a bit too strong for me. I can't take strong fragrances, I tend to get breathless ;). Will not repurchase this.

What have you emptied this month ?

Review : Neutrogena Alcohol - Free Toner

Today's Review post is of 'Neutrogena Alcohol - Free Toner'. I just grabbed this toner one day from Priceline without thinking or knowing much about the product. I am really loving this toner, now on the verge of finishing it, and intend to buy a new bottle soon. I use this during my night time routine, after removing my makeup.

The Good
  1. Affordable and easy availability - Readily available at Target, Priceline, Kmart, etc.
  2. Alcohol Free - I am hoping that being alcohol free, it should probably be good for people with sensitive and acne prone skin (though cannot  be sure as I have normal to dry skin).
  3. Dermatologist tested
  4. Does not leave any residue on the skin - It happens that after I apply some products on my face, my skin feels uncomfortable and I really want to rinse off my face, while this does not leave any residue on the skin, the product is well absorbed by the skin, n leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth.
  5. Does not feel greasy
  6. Moisturizing - Don't feel any tightness or dryness after applying, leaves skin moisturized. At nights, after removing my makeup, toning my face, I can skip the moisturizer if am too lazy (not that I do), cos I find it moisturizing enough for me.
  7. Feels refreshing and gives the skin a good clean
  8. Removes any leftover makeup - I like to dab this all over my face after removing my makeup.

The Bad

  1. Might not be for every skin type - works fine for me
  2. Has a faint smell - which may bother some people (but I actually like it)

The Price

10.99 AUD (150ml)

Where to buy
Priceline, Target, Kmart,etc..

Which is your go to Toner? Have you tried this? What do you think of this product?

My Staple Sunscreens

Back in India, I never used to apply sunscreens. But since I have shifted to Sydney, I am regular with sunscreens, you just cannot do without them.

I dislike the sticky/oily/shiny feeling that come along with most of the sunscreens and thus somehow I have found it difficult to use them on a day to day basis. Finally, I have found two products that I like and work for me and feel light on my skin.

Olay Complete Defence daily UV moisturizing lotion (SPF30+), Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunscreen Spray (SPF30+)

So now without any ado I have reviews of two of my favorite products :

Olay Complete Defence daily UV moisturizing lotion (SPF30+) - approx AUD 14

This moisturizer works great for me (I have normal to dry skin). It does what it says. Below are the good points :

  • This lotion moisturizes well and absorbs quickly into the skin
  • Non greasy - does not have any sticky feeling that u get with sunscreens and now has become my favorite daily facial lotion
  • Comes with a pump :)
  • Feels very light on the skin
  • Comes for all different skin types

I can't think of any negatives. This product is a total hit for me.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunscreen Spray (SPF30+) - approx AUD 18

Like I said, I don't like the sticky and oily feeling of sunscreens. I first discovered this product as a GWP from a Priceline purchase in SPF 15. I liked it so much that I bought the SPF 30+ variant. I use this for my body. I love the idea of sunscreen as a spray, so easy to use and easy to carry. Below are the good points :

  • Quick and easy to apply -just spray and rub and you are done.
  • Light on the skin
  • Non greasy
  • Easy to carry on the go
  • I have always found it difficult to apply creams on my feet as they tend to get slippery n all after you put your shoes on, this mist is perfect to apply on feet as it is so light

One of the negatives of the product is the smell (can be a bit overpowering), you should apply it in a well ventilated room. But leaving that, this product is a total winner for me.

Which are your favorite sunscreens ? Have you tried any of these products ?

A Haul just another day ..

Sportsgirl lipgloss in Flamingo
Priceline goodies
Sportsgirl quilted bag
So I hauled again over the weekend .. I bought some stuff from Sportsgirl and some from Priceline.. Sportsgirl had a huge sale going on since a while now .. I bought this bag (it was reduced to 20 AUD from 60 AUD) ...and the lipgloss in Flamingo.
Flamingo is a gorgeous pink color with a yummy smell ..what attracted me to the lipgloss was the two cute mini lights it has on the cap and a mirror on side of the lipgloss ...(click here to check out the other stuff I bought from Sportsgirl sale)

Then I went to Priceline and rarely can I walk out empty handed from that store, but this time I just bought some regular useful stuff ;) .. Garnier had 30% off on their products .. I had heard good things about the Garnier Anti Dark Circles Roll On (Medium to Dark).. so I thought of giving this a try (was around 13AUD - reduced)...I stocked on my fav makeup remover since it was on discount (this is where I mentioned it before) ..lastly I bought the Neutrogena alcohol free toner..would be using this for the first time ..

So what have you been hauling ?
