Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette - Review and Swatches (Pic Heavy) !

I was requested by the very lovely Varinder from Makeupmeandyoyo, the swatches for the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette. Here is my review and swatches of the palette.

This is a pic heavy post as I wanted to show the palette in all its glory :)

Background of why I decided to buy this palette over others
I didn't have any neutral palette before picking this up, and I was deciding between the Urban Decay Naked 1, the Lorac Mega Pro and the Too Faced Chocolate Bar. I eliminated Lorac Mega Pro as it has a lot of light shades which would not work for my skin tone. Between the Naked 1 and the Chocolate Bar palette, I decided to buy the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette as it has more matte shades as compared to Naked 1, as I wanted to use the palette every day. Having more matte shades makes it easier to create more looks.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette has a good mix of matte, shimmers, glitters and some pop of colors. It is good for creating looks for both day and night. The only color that I don't see myself using is the baby pink shade 'Strawberry Bon Bon'. I have the palette in the newer, slimmer packaging. I love that the highlighting shades work on my skin tome and don't look ghostly. The shimmer higlighting shade is beautiful for inner corner of eyes.

Gilded Ganache, White Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, Black Forest Truffle, Triple Fudge

Salted Caramel, Marzipan, Semi Sweet, Strawberry Bon Bon, Candied Violet, Amaretto

Hazelnut, Creme Brulee, Haute Chocolate, Cherry Cordial, Champagne Truffle

The Good
  • Good variety of colors and finishes
  • Can be used for both day and night looks
  • Delicious chocolate fragrance and packaging
  • Both matte and shimmer highlighting shades available
  • Both the highlighting shades are in a large size, so if they are used everyday, you don't end up finishing them faster.
  • Both mattes and shimmer shades are smooth and pigmented
  • Awesome magnetic packaging

The Bad
  • I would have preferred if it came with a primer or a brush.
  • All shades are not equal, e.g., Candied Violet was not very pigmented, Semi Sweet and Strawberry Bon Bon are not the best matte shades.
  • I hate that the shade names are on the plastic sheet and not the actual palette.

The Price
AUD 65

Where to Buy
Mecca

Overall I think its an awesome palette and worth trying.

  2. Uffff the pacaking is yummy and cute reminds of a big Nestle Bar that was discontinued a while ago,,,I absolutely adore the swatches in the 3rd pictures And I also wish if they consider adding at least the primer or even a brush since the palette is on an expensive side
