Manicure Monday - Loreal Color Riche Le Vernis Vendome Emerald & Sequin Explosion !

This Manicure Monday features Loreal Color Riche Le Vernis in Vendome Emerald & Sequin Explosion

Loreal Vendome Emerald is a beautiful creamy green. I am not sure which category of green it fits into, though it is not emerald in my opinion. Its a beautiful formula and goes almost opaque in one coat. If you are a regular reader of my blog, you must be knowing I am a huge fan of this range. I love the big round brush, which makes for a quick and easy application. I love the mini size too.

Sequin Explosion is a gorgeous multicolored, multi shaped glitter. I wasn't able to capture the beauty of this polish in the pic properly. If you are a fan of glitter you need it in your life. It is so damn pretty and is perfect for accent nails or layering over other polishes.

Priceline currently has buy one get one free on Loreal Nails and Lips in case you fancy trying this range. These retail for 7.95 AUD.

Loving Now - Chocolate Bar, Wings, Brows, Kiehl's and more !

In today's post I share with you things I have been loving lately.

I have been really enjoying Coconut Oil to remove my eye makeup. Using coconut oil to smear my makeup all over and having panda eyes at the end of the day is the most satisfying feeling ever. I love how easily coconut oil removes my makeup and also conditions my lashes. I did a post in the past about Ways to use Coconut Oil

I have previously mentioned the Kiehl's Patchouli & Freshrose perfume HERE. I have recently started using the shower gel from this range. Ahhh, its absolutely gorgeous, such a fresh, rosy and relaxing fragrance.

I have been obsessing over Essie Enuff is Enuff and have worn it a lot this spring. I adore this shade. Check the Manicure Monday HERE

There has been a new addition to my makeup routine, I have started doing my brows. I have been using MAC Espresso for the same and it is the perfect color for me.

If you checked my recent USA Haul, you may have seen I bought the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette. I have been using it non stop since then. It is one gorgeous beauty.

I am loving the Loreal False Lash Wings mascara. It separates, adds volume, lengthens and keeps my lashes curled all day.

I have been loving this elf Blush brush, its smaller than the other blush brushes I own and makes for a precise application.

Manicure Monday - Scarlet with metallic accent !

Its been a while since a did a manicure post. I recently hauled some Loreal nail polishes (they are buy one get one at Priceline currently) and well what better way to show it off than a Manicure Monday :)
I am full on trying to welcome the winter season with this beautiful scarlet and taupey shimmery nail polish from Loreal.

I am wearing Scarlet Vamp and Mysterious Icon from Loreal Color Riche.

Scarlet Vamp is a gorgeous maroon colcor perfect for the colder months and Mysterious Icon is a stunning shade with lots of dimension, in other words, hard to describe (ha ha).

Mysterious Icon is to me a taupey shade with gold and coppery shimmer.

Both the nail polishes are pigmented and show opaque in two coats. I love the brush of this range, its a wide brush, which I prefer. Overall, I would say definitely give these a go.

Which is your go to color currently ?

Priceline 40% off Haul

A while back Priceline did a 40% off all cosmetics over two days and no surprises here, that I definitely wanted to dig in.

I tried to be a good girl and only bought stuff that I knew I will get good use of.

I am lazy with my daily makeup as I don't have enough time in the mornings, my everyday makeup mainly comprises of kajal, some colored or black eyeliner, mascara and lipstick or lip balm and my haul is mostly on the same lines.

I bought two mascaras, the newly launched "Loreal False Lash Butterfly and an oldie "Covergirl Lash Blast".

I also bought the "Loreal Lumi Magique primer" as I have heard good things about it and who doesn't love a glowy and dewy finish.

I bought four eyeliners, two Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Kajal in Black, I absolutely love this eyeliner, its a beautiful deep black eyeliner, so I bought backups. I love wearing colored eyeliners, so I bought a Savvy by DB eyeliner in Jade and Revlon Colorstay in Grey

Finally also bought a Models Prefer dome smudge brush. So that was my haul :)

Did you haul at Priceline ? What did you pickup ?

Review : Loreal Youth Code Luminosity Day Cream/Serum

Today I am reviewing Loreal Youth Code Luminosity Day Cream/Serum. I have finished both the serum and the cream as you must have seen in my EMPTIES post. I am doing a combined review as both the products have the same purpose.

What the company says
SWITCH ON LUMINOSITY FOR FLAWLESS, GLOWING SKIN
A precious, light-infusing serum developed for women aged 25-35 to help correct dark spots and reveal more even, youthful looking skin. The Serum is enriched with patented Lumi-GenTM technology to even and illuminate your skin tone.

CLINICALLY PROVEN RESULTS:
Immediately, your skin is deeply hydrated. It glows with a new luminosity.
In 1 week, your skin is more even. Correction of different types of dark spots begins. Marks start to fade: dark spots, sun spots and age-spots.
In 1 month, dark spots are visibly reduced. Your skin tone is even and more luminous.

My Skin Type
Normal - Dry

The Good

  • Get an instant glow and sheen on the face after applying the serum/moisturizer
  • Leaves the skin feeling soft and hydrated
  • Gets well absorbed into the skin
  • Feels very light on the skin
  • Did lighten some minor spots
  • Good quality pump
  • Good as a every day moisturizer

The Bad

  • Did not make the skintone even
  • Did not make skin luminous, skin just looks glowy after applying the serum/cream
  • Did not make much difference in pigmentation

The Price

Cream (50ml) AUD 30 &  Serum (30ml) AUD 35.95

Where to buy
Target, Kmart, Priceline and select paharmacies

Overall, I think these are good moisturizers with some advantage of lightening the spots. The cream/serum however does not live up to the claim of making skintone even and luminous. I did not see any noticeable difference in my skin. Have you tried this ?  Did it work for you ?

December Empties #3 !!

Today I am doing my list of December Empties .. I love empties post .. just looking at all the empty jars, the satisfaction of using all the products n throwing them away, makes me real happy :)...I don't do my empties every month just whenever I have enough products to bin away ..

SKINCARE

Starting with skincare (from L to R), I had heaps of skincare stuff this time

  • Nivea 2 in 1 Wash & Scrub - Well I don't know how, but I bought this by mistake. This is for combination skin and I have normal to dry skin. So I used this as a foot scrub, just to finish this. Will not repurchase this.
  • Loreal Youth Code Luminosity Serum - Review coming soon. I have used the serum as well as cream of the same type. Its just an okay product for me. Will not be repurchasing this.
  • Olay Complete Defence SPF 30+ - This is my go to daily facial lotion with SPF. I have gone through a loads of these, a definite repurchase. Reviewed HERE.
  • Nivea Soft - This is a cream which can be used for the face and the body. Come in a tub and this tube. Perfect for carrying in the bag, or keeping one in the car or your office desk. Will continue to repurchase.
  • Loreal Youth Code Luminosity Cream - Review coming soon. I have used the serum as well as cream of the same type. Its just an okay product for me. Will not be repurchasing this.
  • Nair Precision Facial Hair Removal Cream - This is the facial cream that I use for my upper lip. This one is a definite repurchase as well. Reviewed HERE

HAIRCARE

So proceeding with the hair stuff
  • Pantene Classic Clean - Just a regular shampoo, work well, cleans well. Might repurchase.
  • Neutrogena T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo - I like this shampoo works well for dandruff. I am suffering from scalp acne since a while and it does seem to help with that.I already have another bottle of this.
  • Loreal Excellence Creme Conditioner - This is the conditioner that comes in the Loreal color kit. I quite like it. Not sure if they are sold separately, but I love these conditioners, they make your hair super soft.

FRAGRANCES

So last but not the least
  •  NEXT Just Pink - Mentioned HERE before. I used to really like this fragrance, but don't like this a lot anymore. Wish this would have been a bit more softer. Will not repurchase this.
  • Bath & Body Works Body Splash in Enchanted Orchid - This was gifted to me. This is a nice fragrance, but again a bit too strong for me. I can't take strong fragrances, I tend to get breathless ;). Will not repurchase this.

What have you emptied this month ?

NOTD - Loreal Color Riche in Luxembourg Garden (608)

As you all must be knowing, I recently won two Loreal Color Riche nail polishes in a giveaway. This is a NOTD post featuring Loreal Color Riche in  Luxembourg Garden (608). I have an accent nail with a pretty metallic rose gold color (24) from K.K. cosmetics (I got this from DFO).

I also did a post previously showing the swatches of Loreal Color Riche in 'Rebel Blue 610', it is one stunning blue, you can check it HERE, if you are interested.

Then this is what I later did with my mani, just playing around n having fun with tape mani, though I admit its not as neat as I wanted it to be :) ..

Hope you enjoyed the post ..

NOTD - Loreal Color Riche in Rebel Blue

As many of you must be already knowing I recently won Crashing Red's giveaway. So today I did my mani in Loreal Color Riche 'Rebel Blue' with an accent nail in 'Luxembourg Garden'.

Loreal Color Riche in 'Rebel Blue' is one stunning blue I must say and these nail polishes are brilliant formula to work with. The above pictures are two coats with a top coat. All in all, these polishes are lovely consistency and creamy formula.

Have you tried these polishes ? Which is your favorite color in the whole range ?

August Empties #1

Hi gals,

This is my first time doing a Empties post .. I quite like the empties post cos they are short n informative as they usually contain mini reviews/repurchases .. So I decided I will also be doing My empties post as and when I have enough products to bin away..

August Empties

  1. Garnier Intensive 7 Days - This is my go to body lotion. It is light, creamy, silky and most of all fast absorbing. I have tried different types but the one that I really like is the 'Honey' one which has a adorable smell. Check the main review HERE.
  2. Nivea Visage Daily Essentials Extra Gentle Eye makeup remover - This is actually not my favorite product but still I repurchased it as soon as this bottle was over. I do not find it extra gentle nor does it remove waterproof makeup. So u say why bother ? Well let me explain so I use this as a second step in my makeup removing process :) I use 'Garnier Skin Naturals Clean Sensitive 2 in 1 Gentle Make-Up Remover' as my staple makeup remover and have used multiple bottles of it ..I remove my makeup with that and since it leaves a bit of oily residue on my face I then wipe my face with the Nivea Visage Daily Essentials Extra Gentle Eye makeup remover and it leaves my face feeling totally fresh and that is what I like about this product. It helps my face feeling back to normal again and at the same time its an extra step to take care of any makeup that has been left.
  3. Olay Complete Defence Daily UV Moisturizing Lotion - This is my go to facial moisturizer with SPF. Its an awesome product and I love it .. n will keep repurchasing it. Check the main review HERE.
  4. Loreal Excellence Serum - This is the serum that came in the Loreal Color kit which I just use before coloring my hair.
  5. Beauty Care Co wipes - These are the wipes that I always get from KMart. They are priced $2. These are no doubt very good and cheap wipes. Good for cleansing and makeup removing as well. These wipes also remove waterproof makeup ..I will keep repurchasing these.
What are some of your favorite daily used products that you keep repurchasing ?

Random - Ways I wear Red Lipstick

  • Full Blown  Red - Rock the full on red lips in all its glory. We all know red lips or bold lips in general are the best way to go if you want your make up to stand out and do not want to put in a lot of effort ..
  • Muted with a Pink Color - If you don't want to wear red you can mute it with a pink lipstick or a nude lipstick. I usually mute my red lip with the Revlon ColorBurst Soft Rose.
  • Pretty Stain on the lips - Wipe the first version with tissue and you get yourself a pretty red stain ..

Do you like to rock red lips ? Or you go for other options ?

Swatches from the previous HAUL post and a quick EOTD

Hi guys

I have swatches from my haul in the previous post.

I got the L'oreal lipsticks for a total bargain and I love both the shades. L'oreal Colour Riche in Pink Lady is a muted pink shade, perfect for day wear and I like to top this up with the L'oreal Lip Gloss in Always Pink. L'oreal Color Riche in After Glow, to me is a perfect MLBB shade. This is a very pretty peachy brown shade and I see myself getting good use of it. I am not sure if these shades are now sold or not in the regular Colour Riche range, as I got these from DFO (as mentioned in my previous post). I got Revlon Color Burst in Peony and Orchid.

I was always a pink girl and was never into peaches, but now I have this sudden fancy over everything peach and hence the need to buy Revlon Peony (gloss) and BYS Coral (blush) is totally justified. Both of them are pretty peachy, while Revlon Peony is a sheer peach with subtle golden shimmer, BYS Coral is a super pigmented peach blush though I dislike the sweet smell it has. Revlon Orchid is a pinky lilac shade. So now the swatches, enjoy !!

L'oreal Colour Riche Pink Lady & After Glow, Revlon Color Burst Peony & Orchid (L to R)

L'oreal Infallible Forever Pink, Flashback Silver & Hourglass Beige (L to R)

BYS Coral Blush swipe & blended in (L to R)

Quick EOTD using Flashback Silver on my lids and Hourgalss Beige as a highlight

The EOTD was actually a very quick one, without primer, mascara and concealer or you can say I just slathered the color on to my lids ha ha :) I was rushing for a dinner date .. and these pics are around 3 hours after applying the makeup. This was applied with fingers. The Lovely Lilit from Makeup and Macroons had done a detailed post on these along with a fab EOTD have a look here .

Have you guys tried L'oreal Colour Riche or Revlon Corlor Burst ? What do you think of them ? Have you bought any of the L'oreal Infallible eyeshadows ? Which are your favorite colors ?

July Favorites !!

Hi girls,

Now I know I am a tad bit delayed for this post. But I still wanted to share with you the products I have been enjoying this July. So read on ..

  • Australis Intensifeye Wet/Dry Eyeshadow in True Blue : I am loving this eyeshadow at the moment. Its a versatile eyeshadow. You can create both soft everyday looks and dramatic looks (by using the darker shades wet) with it. I have used it to create two smokey looks before. You can check them here and here.
  • Australis Paparazzi Perfect High Definition Blush in Flash It : Love the way this blush looks with different colors put together in one. This is a combo of a bright pink, nude pink, beige, champagne and brown. I swirl the brush all over and use it on my cheeks. This can be used as a blush/highlighter and also as a blush/bronzer duo.
  • Australis Lip Butter in Coral Reef : Love the packaging (I have to admit the packaging was the I have to have it factor for this one ;)) of this lip butter, its a cute round pot with a mirror inside. It contains cocoa butter, Vitamin E and Aloe Vera and has a lovely subtle smell. Keeps lips smooth, soft and hydrated.
  • Loreal Glam shine in Always Pink : This is my all time fave lip gloss. It is a nude pinky shade, extremely good for throughout the day, on its own or as a top coat and stays pretty well too.
  • Loreal Nutrishine in Rose Guava : I have reviewed this here before. Its a everyday color and love the way it feels on the lips, very soft, smooth and shiny like a gloss.
  • Nail Polish by Next : I found this similar to one of the shades of the Face of Australia Molten Metallics range which I cannot recollect now. This was a part of one of the Nail polishes gift pack of Next .
  • Nivea Soft creme : I have been loving this cream this winter. Its really soft and light on the skin and keeps the skin well hydrated and soft. It can be used on face, hands and body. The biggest drawback is that it has no SPF. But I have been enjoying this since I am mostly at home these days ..so I soak my skin with this after bath and my skin is loving it ..
  • Sportsgirl Brush with Fame eye brush : I bought this for 2 dollars at sale. For this price you definitely cannot go wrong. Otherwise also I found this brush to be very soft and easy for application and enjoyed using it this month. I will definitely check out other brushes by Sportsgirl.

Smokey Eyes with a hint of copper !!

I have attempted the Classic Smokey eyes (black/charcoal) multiple time in multiple ways but somehow never like it on me ..So this is how I tweaked it this time to suit me, in my yet again attempt to the classy smokey eyes ...You can call this the muted smokey eye or the copper/neutral smokey eyes

Smokey eyes with a hint of copper

Products used

Loreal Contour Kohl Pencil, Australis Intensifeye quad (True Blue), Maybelline shadow stylist (Casual Brown - the name is brown but it is a very pretty muted copper color), Face of Australia liquid eyeliner in Black

How I created the look :
  • Dabbed the Loreal Kohl pencil all over the eyelid
  • Applied the darkest shade of Australis eye quad (True Blue) all over the kohl ...and blended it well
  • Applied the Maybelline Casual Brown shade over inner 1/3 of the eye and blended it with the rest of it
  • Applied Face of Australia liquid eyeliner on the upper lash line
  • Lined the lower lash line with the  Loreal Contour Kohl pencil
  • Curled the lashes and applied mascara
  • Highlighted on the highest part of the brow bone
So what do you think of the muted smokey eyes ? Which is your favorite color for the smokey eyes ?
